iownme, what does the warning light look like? You just mention a warning light, but not anything to give us a clue as to what it may be for. If it looks like a tire with an exclamation point in it, then that is simply a low tire/bad tire sensor. The others you should be familiar with.

The owners manual says the amber and red lights indicate the status of the warning in the message center.

Did a little digging. My Amber and Red light under speedo illuminate then go out in a few seconds. Open a door, says which door is open and Red light activates. Manual from page 91 on shows type (amber/red) warnings. In any case, the manual says the message center will explain the problem and if more than one exists, they will sequence at 2 second intervals. Like say the actual light for oil problem is burned out, you should still get the red and message center.

i included a pic of the of the light... can you not view images?... it is the red pill light by the message center.
the dealer seems a bit cagey when i mentioned the P1000/P1111 codes on a jaguar.

so the red pill light could be illuminated because the driver door is open?
i expect the door was open while he was photgraphing the cluster.
yes or no?

The chart doesn't seem to address that light, but I too, believe it is the warning for the driver's door being open.

Just ask the dealer/private party that is selling it about the light. Chances are it is what everyone else said about the door being open when pictures were taken. Or maybe ask hi to also take a clear shot of what the message center says, as that will explain what the light is for. No reason to be that concerned about it, at least not yet.

The red pill light, if lit is saying that whatever the current fault is, is causing or has a high chance of causing damage to the vehicle. So, if you are driving down the road and that light comes on, you should pull over at the earliest/safest moment. The yellow pill light just tells you that there is an issue with the car and it needs to be looked at. I thought the owners manual talked about that light. I will have to get home and copy what the book says just to make sure we all have the 100% correct answer.

Just refreshed my memory on this.

My Amber and Red light under speedo illuminate then go out in a few seconds. Open a door, says which door is open and Red light activates.
In any case, the manual says the message center will explain the problem and if more than one exists, they will sequence at 2 second intervals.
The messages for my UK model. I guess they will be similar in the USA.
Driver's door open
Driver's rear door open ( assume rear door on the driver's side )
Passenger's door open
Passenger's rear door open ( assume rear door on the passenger's side )
Boot open ( says trunk in the USA ? )

Yes it does cycle through all these messages in sequence when all the above doors and boot are open at the same time.

There are some other things (again owners manual page 91 on) that illuminate the red pill light. Doors, boot, bonbet, rtc. being the least critical, lol. Thermo was right on though, if it illuminates while driving = STOP VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY.
