Default Where can I get rebuilt throttle body?

The dealership says I need another throttle body.... in addition to ridding my car of squirrels. Where can I find one? Thanks!

Smile Throttle Body

Did the dealer say why you needed a new TB? There aren't too many mechanical parts to these things. If it is just very dirty get a can of TB cleaner at any auto parts store take off the hose from the air box to the TB and spray inside the TB while the engine is running. It is best to have a friend sitting in the drivers seat as the cleaner tends to stall out the engine, so have your friend feather the accelerator pedal to keep the engine running. It's a cheap fix and has worked for me on other cars. Also a lot of white smoke will come out the exhaust not to worry that is the dirt in the TB burning away. Also before you spray put your hand inside the TB and clean out any junk the is in there. Engine off of course.

*deer in the headlights look* I have no idea. My knowlegde of automobiles ends at checking the oil. I can ask him when I pick the car up.

I'm looking for used throttle bodies and I have no clue what I'm looking for, or where to look. Motorcars Ltd. has one for $550.

And David has to rewire the MAP sensor- whatever that is. Squirrels have shredded it. I'll have to park it in the garage and not leave it in the driveway from now on. I've lived in the same house for almost twenty years and squirrels have never done this before. That wiring must be tasty. Maybe if I feed the squirrels on the other side of the yard they'll leave the car alone. *rolling eyes*

Thanks for the reply, Adam!

Here's another option for you. It's a little more money but includes shipping and a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty. Don't forget the throttle body is not cable operated so if the wiring to the TB is jacked up, when you step on the gas pedal nothing's going to happen.

Stickman, that's not more money. It's less money than a lot of places want. Thank you!! You're a doll! This is probably my best prospect so far.

One place wants $1200 for a rebuilt. Another place wants $1300 for a new one. Prices are all over the map. Nally Jag doesn't carry rebuilt- only new. But those folks are really nice! I bought a coolant reservoir from them for less than at my local dealership even with my City employee discount.
