Default Where to find better brakes for our jags?

I was wondering if someone knew of a place to get better breaks. I feel like the stock breaks are way too small for our cars. Anyone as get this feeling?

Mine takes a break when I am at work so no issues there...

Seriously though...my brakes I upgraded to slotted and drilled with new pads and my brakes are much tighter and more grabby now...much better than the stockers I had

Boss I am using a slotted/dimpled rotor setup from e-bay with ceramic pads. I pad $200 for the entire setup. It is more responsive than the factory setup. Now I worry about planting the front bumper in the road when I hit the brakes. If there is something on the seat not belted in, it WILL!!! end up on the floor.

What part of NY are you in. Right now I am up in Pulaski NY (just north of Syracuse) doing some work and I might have some time to come over and help install the rotor/pad setup.

Me too. Love them. A little noisy if I brake hard, but that's ok. Also took the opportunity of painting the calipers. Very happy with the whole setup.

Better pads and discs is one way to go, many X-Typists have apparently been satisfied with EBC RedStuff pads (and some of the have also upgraded to EBC discs), so that's the next step for me.

Another, more significant improvement would be to fit the Ford Mondeo ST225 calipers, pads and discs.

I've posted these before, but this is what mine look like. I pained the calipers with a kit I bough off eBay. If you do the same use a better brush. I was constantly pulling loose pieces of brush off the wet paint! The decals I found on eBay also.

Wow those calipers look good, did you label the rotors yourself? I need to get some for the X Type also, I bought an ebay setup last summer for my Maxima, night and day brake feel.

Here... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-Type-...item2c6a6baf83
These are the ones I bought. They go on very easily, and it's been almost 5 months and they are still looking like new.

I always liked Akebono Euro pads..here is an oulet for them..IMO, are the best Low dust and long lasting..I put 60,000 miles on a set on my X and they still had worn less than half....I coupled them with some EBC Sport rotors and the braking was better than factory.

Remember the old addage, you get what you pay for...

I live in southern westchester county near white plains.
I'm a good 250 miles from Syracuse.

I'll buy the pads and disks they look really nice and I trust your knowledge.
Thanks
~Boss.

Boss, that is a little bit of a drive. I only get a single day off a week due to the hours they have me working. SO, I am not going to be able to make it over. I was hoping that you would be a little closer.

Understandable, thank you for the offer, I'm sure I'll be able to figure it out when i decide to do it.
I wouldn't expect anyone to do that for me. If it was something tougher I would drive to you. But I'm sure it'll take me just a couple of hours.

Is the name of the seller breakmotive, as mentioned by someone else, or is it a different seller?
A link would be nice if it's not too much trouble

Boss, check out:

That should give you something to look at. As I recall, I seem to have gotten mine from Brakemotive. So, give them a look.

I just installed EBC USR slotted rotors front and back along with EBC Red Stuff ceramic brake pads two weekends ago. Drastic improvement over stock! Highly recommend. I stayed away from "drilled" rotors as they can produce some break noise. Last two cars had drilled, one rotor cracked and they both made noise.
