WHINING NOISES - ENGINE / TRANSMISSION?
Posted re this topic before I know.....but -
Still got these noiseS from the car, a whining high pitched noise ( not a wheel bearing I don't think) usually just for the first few miles or so and also usually just from cold start up.
Have heard stories about the transfer box, prop shafts etc etc and wondered if anyone else has had or still has these issues?
When I bought the car ( 2.5 Sport -02) it came with an RAC warranty from the dealers and things like, transfer box, gearbox, engine etc etc are all covered. So she's going into Taggarts in Glasgow on Thursday for them to keep for a few days to have a look at.......just hope that they find the problem quickly, that it is very expensive to fix and that it is covered in the warranty.
I'll let you know

I dunno, maybe thats the way your mind works mate so you think everybodys the same?
Jeez, I thought you were alright, but you're turnin out to be an *** and it doesn't suit you, then again, maybe it does, I don't know you well enough to say. LOL
For your info - cars goin in late this afternoon, just had the service desk on sayin that the loan car won't be available till then.
I hope they get to the bottom of this, not cos its causin any real problems at present ( but obviously its a symptom of sumthin not quite right) but i want it sorted.
I'll post as to what their findings are as and when, although they say that they want the car for 2-3 days as it seems to be intermittent.

fu**kin eck racer, give us a chance.....it's only1.45pm here and they don't want it in till about 4pm..... They wanna keep it for a few days as the noise seems to come mainly a short while after start up from cold, but generally doesn't last too long.
Have a beer on me racer [sm=icon_cheers.gif]

Hey Andersen, re your original comments mate. I'm beginning to wonder!
You know when you hear sumthin on your car that just aint right, you take it to the dealer, and they check it over and call you back and say, we can't find a thing, it seems fine? Well, thats what just happened to me. Of course they took £104 for diagnistic check and loan car insurance[:@]
Said to me " All I can say is take it back and lets see if the fault develops further!"
I said to him "Listen, I don't want the bloody fault to develop further, I want it fixed!"
AAAAAARGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Anyways, got the car back, and just have to wait n see. Trust me, I won't take any satisfaction when it all goes **** up in probably about ten months time, about a month after the warranty runs out no doubt!
The only upside is - I got my Saab back today also after some warranty work. They fitted new shocks and assosciated parts, new drivers seat base and cover, new wheel nuts and a few other bits n bobs..........great to have her back after a week or running round in a 120bhp vector, a lottttt slower pace of life last week for sure.

Good to hear things arent rotten. But thats the dealer trend nowadays. Only temp fixes never get it right on the first try. Ive got a windsheid wiper issue thats been 4 months and 4 trips to the dealer and still havent got it right. First they changed the module, then they changed the stock, (still didnt work right) then they said it just wasnt programmed right. Now there saying the motor is broke but its been 3 weeks and now word. Crazy...[:@]
