whining nose?

I just test drove a 2004 jaguar x-type 2.5 awd five speed. I noticed when getting past around 20 miles per hour there was a whining sound that did not go away until I slowed to below 20 mph. The car is selling for $6999 with 77k miles on it. Could the whining be a bearing or something else?

Whining is typically associated with X Types, particularly from behind the steering wheel.

could be transfer case.. whining or a bearing.

carrier bearing for the propshaft...trust me. Hvae to buy the whole assemble unless your good at ordering and installing bearings.

+1 on that Jag genius.................had that on my 02 X type usually when cold............transfer case whine in my case ( no pun intended )...lol

Yeah I have this problem also... I actually made a post about it before. I still have this problem as Jag has horrible service hours and would want to hold the car for a couple of days. Anyone knwo how long I can keep driving like this or what will be the effect if I dont get it fixed any time soon? So far i have driven 10K KM on it.
