Default Whirring or humming sound

Had the Jag about 3 months now, and am really getting to apprieciate it, but have a hopefully quick question. There is a humming sound coming from the dash when I turn the car off. It sounds almost like a small motor, about center of the dash. Anyone know what it is, or if it's going to kill my battery or something else nasty?

Thanks,
Bill

Bill, this "motor" runs all the time, but the general road noise and the sound of the engine drowns it out. That "motor" is a small fan used by the A/C-heat system to measure the cars interior temp. If you turn off the car and sit in it for a few minutes, you can hear the fan turn off in that time. it is not going to kill your battery. Hasn't killed any of ours.

Thermo is correct, I replace the fan motor because it was very loud to my wife, my son did not care but I replaced it and you can still hear it but faintly. It is a pretty easy fix, just watch out for sharp metal under dash!
