bottom line was. i was going to meet him in charlotte NC..... 4 hrs into the journey he texted me to tell me he didnt bring the car with him...(he was bringing it from AL)
im very disappointed as it was the only suitable X out of the 700 or so used X's ive looked at online.
seems in looking for a needle in a haystack...
id never seen that interior before and probably wont again.. lol
oh well the search continues!

Well, that is odd. A guy is selling a car and agrees to meet you somewhere to check the car out in person, but then says he is coming to meet you WITHOUT the car? What would be the point of that? Did he give a reason? Almost sounds like something shady, like he was trying to hide something. Might have been for the best.
Keep looking, those cars are out there if you are patient. I remember when I was looking for mine, had to be a 3.0 manual with that carbon fiber interior and Aruba wheels. Took me about 7 months to find on and I had to travel 500 miles to pick it up. Ended up to be worth the wait. One of the most reliable cars I ever owned. On the other hand, that was back in 2008 and I am sure it is even harder now than back then. Hang in there.

it was a complicated situation what with the floods of florida, thats why he was prepared to meet in charlotte. he was coming north anyway. it was more bad business sense than a shady deal i think.

i waited 3 months to find my current X so i know it takes time..
after much deliberation i decided to buy the car without physically seeing it.
carfax report was excellent.
the car looks mint and with 100k i expect to do some steering/suspension work.
im paying $500 to ship from AL to PA which is pretty cheap, car was $5800.
wish me luck!!!...lol
Thinking about selling it, 2002 X type black on black 3.0, 138k new tires, radiator and ac compressor. New headliner most of the suspensions parts replaced, all fluids changed.
