Default Will a 2006 jaguar Xtype driver seat with lombar support and heated fit a 2002 xtype

How to plug the electrical parts.
My 2002 has heated seat but no lombar support. Will it be possible to fit a 2006 seat with these options ?
thanks

The heated seat will work since you already have it, but the lumbar support I doubt would function. The existing seat control module doesn't have the circuit for it.
Another problem you might also encounter is that in the second quarter of 2004 they updated the electric system in the x-type. It is very possible that none of the seats functions will work due to the changes in the wiring system.
You would have to do a line by line comparison of the the wiring diagrams to determine if the seat would function at all.

Looking at the wiring diagrams, it might actually work (manual pump on the lumbar)...although I'm not sure if memory seats would. The pump just takes its juice from the +12V bus coming into the seat, and the wiring is in the seat itself, not the harness.

I read it some time ago in an old post, tried to find it again to no avail.
To paraphrase = had a heated seat, no lumbar, bought used replacement seat and seen a lumbar switch (to his surprise in owning a Jag, that it didn't have lumbar being a "luxury" car.) He installed replacement seat (minding the caution of disconnect, etc. so airbag in seat is not accidentally triggered). Plugged in the seat to existing plug and as he said "Voila", lumbar support.

You need to look at Section 11 - Seat Systems

As a note - I replaced the 2-Way driver and manual passenger seats in my 2002 with 8-Way power w/heated seats from a 2003 a few years ago.

The existing wiring harnesses under the seats in my 2002 had everything including Lumbar. I was not able to use the heated seat option because there was no harness connection on the dash (at the Emergency Hazard switch) of my 2002 to power the heated seat module - but it was well worth the $100 I paid for each replacement seat!!

Hope this helps - and enjoy your new seats - I know I like mine better!!

Quick question. I've encountered vehicles that might not have a given option, but the connection point was still in the wiring. It's more economical, I would think, to just make one harness, and leave that c point open on the pig tail from the seat.. Just a thought, I've given serious thought to upgrading my seats. 03 x-type.
