Default Will BBS RS 17x7.5 fit X Type?

Hi guys,

I tried searching for details online regarding fitment of BBS RS rims to the X Type but so far it wasn't straightforward.

Just wanted to check whether these rims can fit the X Type perfectly, or do I need to insert spacers to get them to fit nicely inside the fenders.

The ones I have seen online are either lowered or the wheels are already modified to fit inside the fender.

Is it a straightforward job or do I need to do some mods?

Appreciate your kind advice!

That depends on many things, like what the offset is, and if they are not 5x108 then you need some adaptors to bolt them on, which are typically about an inch thick so again, offset is key to them fitting. Also that last pic with the x type isn't BBS RS's, they are knock offs, I forget what brand but the car is owned by a member here, exexpat.

Hi Justin,

Thanks for the advice.

There are a few listings on this site, but mostly with descriptions like BBS RS OLD 17x7.5JJ 17x8.5JJ. I'm not really savvy with offsets and PCDs except for knowing the 17 means diameter...

7.5 and 8.5 JJ are not the same as the 5x108 you mentioned above, right?

Here in Malaysia, these rims are mostly shod on the Japanese or local made rides...

Those are the wheel widths, not offsets. 17 would be the diameter, 7.5J or 8.5J being the width. If they were on a Japanese car and are 5 lug chances are they are 5x114.3 not 5x108, most German cars are 5x120. You probably won't find a set in 5x108 bolt pattern since not many cars have that PCD. If you were to get a set with a different bolt pattern the would need to have around a 50 or higher offset to fit with wheel adaptors.
