I was just driving along when the wing mirror popped out (not adjusting it or anything) and smashed on the road. The glass is still attached to a black plastic plate with a rim around the edge holding the glass. I can't see any damaged lugs on it or on what it's attached to in the housing, so I don't know why this happened? Is it easy to fit the glass back under the rim of the holding plate as the Jaguar dealership want £40 just for the glass!! Is there also any special knack of putting it back on the housing - is it a simple push/snap in click fit as it appears? Anything to look out for (eg slide in from one side/top etc) as I don't want to smash the glass by pushing too hard at those prices? Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
