Default Wiper Questions

Dealer parts guy just told me that they do not sell the Blade Inserts. Just the complete blade assembly. True or False?

Also, any opinions on the usefulness of "Jaguar Screen Clean Paste"? In California?

Thanks,

K

That doesn't surprise me and I would guess that is probably correct. If it was me I would just go to somewhere like Autozone and just buy replacements.

Have never used/heard about that windshield paste, but just looked it up. Seems that it does help to clean a lot of build up on the windshield. I would think there are similar products you could buy that do the same thing. If there is someone on here will probably chime in.

Is the driver's side wiper "spoiler" removable and re-mountable on a replacement wiper blade, say, from WalMart? Or do you have to buy the whole assembly when replacing the blades?

Thanks,

He may be accurate in stating 'they do not sell Blade Inserts'. You could go back and tell him Jaguar supply them:

We have a totally different climate from CA over here but probably still relevant to add that I've never been impressed with Jaguar Screen Clean Paste. It does no more than any good quality vehicle screen cleaner.

I just bought Bosch Driver side 22A and pass. side 19B, Autozone told me the A is for the less curved Drvr side and B is for Pass. more curved and will hug the glass better, about $40.00 for both. Cheaper than a $500.00 deductible if ya can't see!!

$16 bucks for standard blades from my local auto parts store. 14 ea if you want the "better" ones, but i figure for the 16 dollars I don't mind replacing them once or twice a year.. They havn't let me down yet on any of my vehicles!

Are people just discarding the original wiper with the spoiler on it? Or are they remounting it onto the replacement blade?

original wipers are nothing more than just Bosch. The driver's wiper comes with a spoiler.

Gotchya, so how do you get that spoiler on the replacement blade? Or do you just toss it out with the old blade?

I put on Autozone wipers. They are great. Discarded the spoiler. I don't see any reason to have it, other than a bit of bling.

I never had a spoiler on mine. I'm assuming it got tossed with a previous wiper change.
