Default Wipers that don’t wipe when washer on

I have seen here before (can’t find it now) how some people said that there wipers do not engage when the washer fluid is turned on. Well this might help: I was driving the other day and the amber warning light cam on and read “low washer fluid” when I used the washers with the low fluid light on I noticed that the wipers did not wipe. I had to manually turn them on. I think maybe there is a switch that controls the auto wiper when the washer fluid is sprayed. I filled the washer tank back up and they worked no problem. For those that have this problem try running the tank dry then refilling. Hope this tid bit of information will help you fix or it least find out what is wrong with your wipers.

Same thing happened to me Sunday. My light came on, thought nothing of it until I used it and the wipers didn't come on. All was fine after filling it. Must be designed in so you don't use the last of your solvent as quickly.

Nice piece of info there jvegas

I do know what you mean though Bo, without having a go at anyone who doesn't ( not me!!)
I usually like to at least browse thru the owners manual if only to see what special toys or gimmicks there are and there's usually a few. You'd be surprised at how many people have cars and don't know that they have global open or global close or evern both?
Its always a great idea for sure.

Manual? Sure, I have a manual - it's a 5-speed!

Global open is on all 2003 and newer S-Types, 2004 and newer XJ and I believe 1997 onward XK. They can all be used via remote or lock button in vehicle. Global close is available on all Jaguars via key. Incidentally, a little known fact. Any jaguar key can be used to lock and global close any other Jaguar.

I think you need IDS. The only thing you can do on your own
is to set single stage or dual stage locking.

WHen people complain about dealers ripping them, you got to think also about what it costs them to stay in business. Our shop has 6 IDS units. Quite a bit of work needed to pay those off.
