When I went to Jaguar Training New Product 2002 (NP02) we were told to remove the engine/gearbox as a unit with the subframe and separate on the floor.
I never did it that way and just did the gearbox removal like any front wheel drive (tilt gearbox down, pull back and out).
In September of 2003 Jaguar issued a REVISED procedure for gearbox R&R. Turns out they advised to do it the way most people did it ANYWAY.
See TSB/Service Action XT307-S941.
Start at page 10 of the Bulletin.

Hi
Looks like I will be doing this job in order to replace a leaking rear crank seal.
I also have a 2.5 manual, 2002.
It is mentioned in the TSB that it concerns automatic gearbox, but I assume the procedure is the same for manual gearbox then?
Thanks
