Jag noob with questions
Hey guys,
Im new to the forum and I wanted a little re-assurance that a CPO'd 03 X-type 2.5 isnt a horrible money pit. I just bought the car for the wifey because..... well, um..... I still dont know why I bought it. However, I am an audi driver and Ive found helpful forums like this to guide me down the right path through repairs and the like. I wanted to know if there is a diagnostic software available for this car as well as any reputible parts suppliers. I was hoping you all would share some experiences with your X-types, good, bad, it doesnt matter.

He brings up a good question though. Where can you go to get a deal on parts? My keyfob from jag would have been 150+6% sales tax here in michigan. When she called my dealer I bought the car from she told him it the PO would be $69. Little bit of a difference!!!

I find most everything on ebay. Ive had my 02, 3.0 for a couple of months now and I love driving it. Theres a lot of helpful people around here, welcome to the fam...

So there is no diagnostic software availible?
No parts places? there has to be someplace that specializes in jag parts.
I find it very hard to believe that with jags shaky track record on reliability there wouldnt be ae literal plethura of information availible.
for example, My A8. you wouldnt expect to find any kind of info on an A8, correct? Audis flagship vehicle, only the rich guys would get to have them, rich guys never do their own maintenance so why would their be anything on the web about my car.

Well i suppose i misunderstood your question...sorry... diagnostic software for the jag is a good OBD II scanner. You can pick one up at any parts store for 50-100 bucks. That's just for the basic scanner to pull your codes.
If you need more power in a scanner, they can go as high as 800....just depands on what you need....
If you're looking for something to tweak your ECU....nothing out yet for the Jag...maybe next year from Year one....
