Default X-Type Battery/Electrical Problem - Help/Advice needed please!

Hi,
Had my old x-type 2 years & it had never let me down starting up....until now!
My car was parked up for 48hrs, I've left it for this amount of time before with no issues. Wouldn't start on this occasion (clicking sound) but the interior lights & central locking were still working albeit a little sluggishly. Called out my breakdown recovery, they jump started me no problem & measured that my battery was charging at 14.92 (I'm assuming that's the current coming from the alternator & that sounds about normal to me) He advised me to give the car a good run & get my battery checked after the weekend. I went for a 25 min drive & gave it some gas on the motorway, parked up for a couple of hours & started it up again no problem. Parked up for the night & around 16 hours later, same problem. Doors just about opened but not enough juice to start. As it was a Sunday, I decided to leave it & buy a new battery on Monday. Monday afternoon & clearly the battery had drained even further as everything was now dead - wouldn't even unlock with the fob. Got the new battery & everything started fine no issues, but then my friend hooked up his multimeter just to check & now I'm properly worried! It's worth mentioning that he hooked up the meter to the positive terminal and I believe I had a door open so the interior lights would have been on, but the reading was 2.5! I'm no expert but this sounds an absolutely massive drain, I would have expected a fraction of this. If the car is dragging that much power all the time the shiny new Bosch S5 will be dead by midweek. Is a 2.5 drain normal with interior lights on? Any help & advice would be much appreciated as always

Try again. It takes about 30 to 40 minutes for your car to go to sleep. The current drain after this time should be around 30 mA or 0.03A.
When you try it again make sure any auto functions you have are switched off.

If you find it won't go to sleep mode check the small flap on the door to the ignition switch. They tend to hang open and will kill the battery. S good lubing with a spray for locks will free it up if it is sticking.

Yep, tried again with the doors SHUT this time (doh!) and indeed the reading was around 0.03 - I'd made myself paranoid with all the stuff I read regarding "parasitic battery drains" on X-types.
Think the culprit is a dodgy headlight switch, the fog lights come on when they shouldn't.
Thanks all.
