Hello,
I have 2011 Jag facelift version 2.2D. I noticed, that once in a while the alarm goes on automatically which eventually results in draining the battery.

I also noticed, that when parked, locked and sitting inside the car, the speedmeter and speed clock needle continues to drop from 0 down, then back to 0 and drops again. It also makes a ticking sound.

Also the warning light button blinks once in a while and the handbrake light on the shield.

Is this normal?
Can this drain the battery?
Can drained battery start an alarm?

Any advice would be extremely appreciated.

Your battery is likely the problem. A weak battery will cause all sorts of issues in the XF

so you think that charging the battery would solve it? I had a new battery replaced already through the warranty, because it did not trigger Start/stop and did not charge correctly. I assume that battery should last longer than two years..

Depends on what type and quality of battery that was put in...Like captain obvious said..These JAGs are real finicky when they have a weak battery, as has been mentioned a million times in these forums...make that 1,000,001 times

Well if the battery is low you'd need to find out why? Bad alt, bad connections bad battery etc. but I would start with that, seen batteries bad off the store shelf. And pay no attention to dpk, he's the master of adding absolutely 0 to ANYTHING!

OK, can the problem be also the fact, that I drive mostly short distances and perhaps charging the battery could fix it?

Can alarm be triggered by low battery when car is parked and locked?

Solved
Hello,
just for the record, the problem was with the rear door locked that did not lock the door properly. This triggered the alarm and also drained the battery. Fix costs in authorized service approx 200EUR.
Thanks for your advice guys.
P.
