X type bites the dust...:(
Guy,
Not sure if this is the right place ( or allowed) but my X type (2002 v6 petrol) has finally got the better of me!! It came with a variety of issues I thought I could fix ( or get fixed) however it's become too much, the problems / issues include
No heating ( possible "blend flap actuator") which I have a replacement for
Rear brake caliphers siezed ( both), also hand break cable snapped
Central locking doesn't unlock passenger door, just clicks then re-locks constantly..... May be due to door being dented where the previous owner hit a post, although door opens fine
Finally, and this is the killer...... Car drives, car starts to judder ( best description is like running out of fuel) however change down, smooths out but you get no power ( like it's in limp mode) change back up everything's fine for a couple of minutes, or maybe 30 seconds ( no set pattern) then it goes again... I thought it was a fuel issue however it sits in idle just fine.
So, at my wits end and TBH lost confidence in the car ( and my partners constant reminders about getting " something sensible) so my question is can anyone recommend a Jag dismantler near Swindon Wiltshire? I live in a cul-de-sac and do not have the time / space or know how to break it myself..... Just want it gone.
( it's not going to be my last Jag though, for the brief period it ran it was like nothing I've driven before)

Sorry to hear about your problems.
a Few questions before you pull the plug on her.
What codes do you have as I am sure your check engine light is on?
Sounds to me like you may have a vacuum leak.
worth a try
Also post it for sale on here (MarketPlace) I am sure someone near you would take it for a parts car

Hi I kind of know how you feel I bought an XJ6 X350 with a few probs and after 6 months have finally got it working right.
Have you changed the fuel filter it deffo sounds like a fuel issue but codes are the way to go?
Dont give up yet £20 will get you a bluetooth OBD2 module and Torque pro if you have android phone or tablet.
9.95 on Ebay and £3.00 for Torque on play store?
Failing that get a straight code reader for around 15 quid
U480 LCD Universal CAN-BUS OBD2
I have this one and used it on numerous makes for quick reads oF DTC
The guys on the site will help find out what is up and how to fix?
