New S-Type Owner
Hi all, I just bought a 2005 S-type 3.0. I've already learned a lot from reading the S-type forum, but I'm sure I will have many questions.
Starting out I need rear brakes and the DCCV (and most likely the CCM) replaced. I've already read quite a bit about the DCCV job and feel like I have a handle on what I'm in for.
I still have to do more research on the rear brake job. There are a few details I'm unclear on so far. It sounds like my car could have either of two calipers (according to my local AutoZone and O'Reilly's). I'm not sure how to identify which one I have. I'm also unsure where to source the tool needed to retract the piston on the rear brakes. Finally I need to learn how to reset the parking brake after I replace the pads and rotors.
I'm sure I will be able to find the answers in the forums. Thanks to those who have already documented so much for those of us who are learning!

Welcome to the forum John,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
You've already found your way to the S-Type tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
You can also visit the USA Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link US Lower Atlantic - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.

Welcome John to the forum.
Follow Grahams link to the S Type board. I must say that all of your posted inquiries have been discussed in the past, most in full detail and many with real time pics and procedures.
Being that you have a 3.0, you have only one rear caliper. The V8 Supercharged STRs are the vehicles that have a separate caliper for the E Brake pads. Please be sure to read up on proper changing out the rear pads, they screw back into the caliper.
