Default Brake issue XJS

A week ago, my anti lock light and brake light came on and I lost the "power" to my brakes. I have since checked the fluid level, the 2 30 amp fuses, and have even replaced the pressure switch (from a parts car)... The brakes still are hard when I push the brake pedal. The wheel sensors are ok. Where to now ??

Sounds like the accumulator has given up altogether. Seems these are getting kinda hard to come by since everybody figured out the GM one was a direct swap.

Not sure swapping it out will do any good, but worth a try. Seems 11-15 years is about tops for them to last as it is a service item.

OK, finally figured out that both accumulators were bad. Broke down and bought one of the expensive ones on EBay $334.00 put in on and after the 60 second pause for pressure, it works, brakes work and we are on go.... now to reset the anti lock light on the dash !!!!

BTW, before going broke buying the accumulator, I checked the two 30 amp fuses, the ABS module, the speed sensors on the rear and the combined pressure switch... All were ok.... That left the expensive part ...... but the cat can get back on the road... and in the auto show in Jan here in Charleston at the Civic Center.

Those accumulators are getting pricey. Can only hope that GM builds a batch of AC Delco ones for all of the GM cars that had them. I bought mine two years ago for a little under 100.00 under a GM part number.
