Hi thank you for all your previous help I have always had good responses from you people.

I had a noise today in the car on pressing the clutch. Screeching (metal on metal). It disappears as soon as clutch is released. In a heartbeat my local mechanic said it is a bearing attached to the clutch and the whole clutch needs to be replaced as it comes in a unit. I can swallow this at £500 his quote. But should I ask him to replace the DMF too even though at 100k there is no obvious sign of issue? Is DMF failure inevitable post 100K? If so I may just get him to do it at the same time. If I do ask him to do it how much more expense do you think this may incur?
