Hello gentlemen,

I´ve a X-type from 2004, diesel engine if that´s matter. I use my car only on dry roads, an therefore store it in a barn during the winter.

The car has been stored for 6 weeks now, and today I tested to open the doors, nothing happened.

*Doors locked
*Hood closed
*Battery dead

Not easy to access under the car.

Anyone that have some trick how to apply power to the car so I can open the doors / hood?

 

Try the key in the driver's door handle?

 

unfortunately, there is no mechanical connection between the key mechanism & door closing mechanism.

 

My drivers door unlocks just as well with the key in the lock as it does with the remote.

A straightened out coat hanger through he door jam would probably work.

 

Do you mean your lock linkage is broken?

Use the key in the door.

Unless the linkage is broken, this should work.
