Default X-Type question

Hello Jaguar forums!

Sorry, but i reposting this because i posted this question in the wrong forum last time (sorry mods)

I just wanted to see if all the X-Type owners of this forum liked there car, and is it true they are very expensive to repair if anything goes wrong? Thanks again!

Best Regards,
Michael

rolex, from my personal experience, fixing this car is not any more expensive than most of the other vehicles I have owned (97 Expedition, 06 Chevy Cobalt, 99 Mitsubishi Galant, 97 Nissan Altima). Now, with that being said, I also do a lot of looking around when it comes to parts to find the best deal there and I do a lot of my own work. So, that saves me a ton of money. If you are having to pay someone else to do the work for you, yes, owning a car like this can get very expensive, very fast. BUt, that can be said of most cars, it is just worse because a lot of the shops will charge top dollar for their time due to specializing. But, some mechanics are really honest people and charge you the same whether you are bringing in a Yugo or a Lambo.

Hi Mike, as Thermo said, if you have your head screwed on and know whewre to llok for parts and can do some of the work yourself / or have a good reliable mechanic, then no more than any other car!
I'm sure you'll get more answers to this, but, in the meantime, why not check thru the X type quick FAQ links for more info?

The biggest issue I find are the people that buy a Jaguar and cant even afford to maintain a Yugo...So the car slowly just becomes a big POS
