I installed a 2006 automatic trans into my 2002 x type with 3.0 engine. My car is the early version on the vin #. Trans works fine but my speedo doesnt work and my abs light is on. DTC fault codes from my basic code reader are 61165 and 61175. I have never seen a code starting with 6 before. I was thinking that the trans module out of the 06 might correct the problem. Any ideas if this will help or what the codes stand for??

 

I have never seen a code starting in a 6 before either. I have also never seen a 5 number code either. All jag codes I'm familiar with are shown in this way A####. Maybe your code reader thinks that 6 stands for a letter? If I were you, I would go with the new tcu, but I would read the codes first before you pull the trigger just to make sure everything else is going smoothly

 

Funny thing about the code reader is it shows the P1000 code before the 61165 and 61175. it works fine on other cars..weird. I tried to buy the TCM from car I got motor and trans but it was gone. Looking elsewhere now. By the way your car looks like a carbon of mine. thanks for the input
