Default x type uneven tyre wear

Had rear tyres changed. Put on Pirelli 205 55 V16 - J : specifically made for this Jag. They have worn out on insides within 6000 miles and 7 months.
Any ideas why?

Smile Inexpensive diy fix.

I had the same problem...

1. New tires => No help.
2. Two realignments => No help.

3. $15 Coil Spring Spacer => 'Even' tire wear for the past 1.5 years with the same tires. The adjustable Coil Spring Spacers are do-it-yourself easy installation, which re-level the rear end. http://www.discountautoshocks.com/in...3RhbGxhdGlvbi4=

Also, I recommend Fuzion/HRi tires; they can be rotated in a criss-cross pattern for more even wear of all four tires.

Imran, check your lower forward suspension arms. I bet you will find some worn bushings on the inside bushing (attached to the frame of the car). This is a common problem with our cars. The new arms are around $100 a side and take about 30 minutes to install per side. 2 bolts and the arm comes out. Keep in mind that you will also end up getting another alignment after this is all done.

Thermo sounds right on this one. Rear alignment can be tricky on this vehicle as I have had issues as well. I would bring the vehicle to a shop with quality equipment such as as Hunter machine and qualified technicians. Once car is aligned properly inner wear should disappear until then you will be spending a fortune on tires.

Default uneven rear tyre wear solved

Thanks for the suggestions, but I am no mechanic.
Took it to Racing Green Cars in Ash, Hampshire and they changed rear control arms before doing a proper 4-wheel laser alignment. Total cost around £400.
So far, so good.

Yup, same thing...

When I had my X-Type at the dealer for a bunch of stuff (coolant flush, thermo replacement, brake fluid replacement, transfer case replacement... =:-0

They told me that my rear bushings were worn and the rear alignment would no longer be correctable. They told me it would cost around the same amount ($600) to fix. I deferred at that time...
