Default X-type - very strange ??

We'll had my Xtype for over. Two yrs no issues but spoke to soon -

Today driving my car through out the day when I tried to reverse the car raved up but no movement like if it neutral - I reset it - check ECM - checked TCM it drive great in drive 2gear 3rd & fourth - no issues but no reverse - now here's the stranged thing no codes - I'm pretty sure this issue my car would be flashing gear fuslt codes but no car looks & sound feels normal but won't go into reverse -

Now I did resheached on this & %99 said it was due to losing a bolt by Trans - I never losen any bolt except oil drain which is no where near the bolt there taking about - I haven't been under my car for months - now I did drive over hard snow maybe that might have losen it

I also heard that it might be a rubber band on gear shifter / that might have broke or torn -

Juan, I would first start with checking the tranny fluid level. If the level gets too low, it will cause the tranny to sometimes shift into neutral in some cases. From there, see what you have.

Juan, if you have the drive gears, then your problem is not the "reverse cable" as the tranny only uses a single cable to shift through all gears.

Yea I see so I believes my only option is switching out tranny -

I did saw a thread that a guy fixed this same issue on his own - he didn't need to pull tranny out all he did located the bolt that holds in place the pin to the reverse band - & drilled hole to adjust it from there - it worked for him

http://www.justanswer.com/jaguar/3f9...o-reverse.html

So I Got three option get it rebuilt or used one - or sell
Thermo you helped me out with a lot of situation what do u think is the best to go with for the long run cause I've heard looks of bad stuff happens with guys who switch out tranny or rebuilt them ?
