X-Type Windshield replacement

Will a Ford Contour windshield fit an X-Type??

The Ford Contour from 1995-2000? No....

The X-Type screen is supposedly the same as the one from the Ford Mondeo Mk3 which was available in Europe from 2000-2007. It was not sold in the US/Canada, but I believe it was sold in Mexico at one stage.

If you could find a Mk3 screen in the US, it probably wouldn't be cheaper than the original from the X-Type anyhow...

Contour Windshield

It is my understanding the Mondeo was made from the Contour tooling.

Rough measurements, Contour to X-Type, seem to indicate a fit.

suppose the thing to do is get a Contour windshield and try it.

Nope, other way around, and not only that Contour, Mondeo Mk1 & Mk2 had the same screen, whereas the Mondeo Mk3 was a total facelift, which shared some components with the X-Type.
