Hi guys,as you know I used to post pics of my X Type all the time when I had it and its been a while since I posted any so here are some of my X350 (know its on wrong forum but just imagine it as a bigger X Type)
Here are some pics of recent holiday to France (covered over 2000 miles).
At the converted barn we rented in Pellouailles-les-Vignes not far from the Loire near Angers:-
The Loire near Saumur:-
Saumur chateau going over bridge:-

Great pictures Buck. I love your XJ color and the wheels are especially nice.
I used to have a 2.5 X-type and would consider getting the XJ in the future. How do you like the XJ in comparison to your old X-type. is it a major upgrade and a world of a difference? what do you like and anything you dislike about the XJ in comparison to your old X-type? and thanks again for the sharing the nice pictures!

Pros and cons...
There is much more room in the rear of the XJ infact I am looking at doing weddings on a weekend as its got virtually 1 metre of legroom and the seats are heated and recline (maybe a bride and groom wouldnt want that until later!)....
The front doesnt seem to have as much room as the X Type and the seats dont seem to go as far back and I only have 29.5" inside leg but would like the seat back slightly more.
I love all the gadgets, voice etc which my X Type didnt have.
The boot seems smaller than the X Type as I have to put the toddlers pushchair in at 45 degrees whereas in the X type it went straight in front-back so leaving more room.It is like a bus compared to the X Type and obvoiusly the handling is a bit more wallowy around corners but it is very comfy even with 20" alloys with the air suspension. The rear brakes need doing soon as I was told and shown some rear XK pads with no meat on them by a specialist that they only last around 14k (other electronic handbrake models also suffer this eg XKs).Ive just bought a set of EBC redstuff to get rid of the brake dust which takes no time to appear. The rears are the same as the Saab 9-3, Vectra 2005- and Ford Focus 2.5 Turbo and they were only £52 delivered.X Type was more powerful but lost a bit through the AWD.About to buy a chip on a 30 day return if no good basis which should put the power to 251 BHP and over 500Nm torque.MPG should also increase by up to 15% when not using the power.Light are fantasic on the XJ and were disappointing on the X Type.Miss the red leather and quads and V6 growl even though the XJ is a V6 diesel it just doesnt growl. The XJ also can only seat 4 as the centre rear seat is taken up by the entertainment system.
When its raining or when the snow comes I expect I will miss the fantastic X Type AWD but the XJ has DSC which my X Type didnt (not tried it out fully yet though).
Service intervals are 1 year/15k on the XJ so longer than the 1yr/10k on the X Type not that it makes a difference to me as I dont do that many miles in a year so its once a year for the servicing.
There are many other things I like about the XJ mostly the memory settings being set to individual keys fobs, heated seats front and rear, electric lumbar support etc and I like the large easy to use touchscreen too.
MPG is better in the XJ and the tank holds 23 litres more so filling station visits are rarer now.
The biggest gripe though with the XJ is why cant Jag fit a damned curry hook to the glovebox lid like they do on the X Type...really miss that as we get a currys nearly every week!!!

Love the XJ and the pics from France - makes me wish I could go back there.
I'm contemplating the move from my X to an XJ as well - how does it handle in the winter (if that's something you deal with)? How about maintenance, a nightmare compared to the X or about on par?

Maintenence at least on diesels like mine...it has an A and a B service which alternate every 1y/15k.My last one was a 90k one which cost £210 at a specialist and Jaguar did warranty work once 90k service was done...
For diesels..
A Service
Briefly...
Drain fuel sedimentor
Renew engine oil and filter
Usual checks and inspections
B Service
Briefly
Air,Pollen,Fuel filters, Engine Oil + Filter
At 105k change camshaft drive belt and tensioner
Ar 150k change fuel pump drive belt and tensioner.
Have EBC redstuff to fit to rears as rear pads dont tend to last beyond 14k on models like the XK and XJ with electronic handbrake.
On diesels any work on diesel injectors it would need to be done either at a dealer or specialist as specialist equipment is needed for the coding.
The 3.0 petrol engine is the same as the X Type.
Good luck.
