Hi I've just joined up and have for the last 5 days I have owned my first Jaguar X-type 2.0 Manual diesel 05 plate. I bought the car of a friend with the understanding it needed a new clutch and release bearing. So I bought a clutch kit and to save money I bought a SOLID flywheel as I was told the DUEL mass flywheel would probably need changing as the car had done 130,000. So the job was done by a very good mechanic my family have used for years, I drove the car just 0 miles and the clutch was slipping and at stand still there was a scoring noise which went when the clutch pedal was pressed down, the noise in my opinion got louder the warmer the car got... its now back at the garage... parts are covered with a warranty, my mechanic says its probably because of the solid flywheel conversion. Anyone have any thoughts on this?? HELP!! many thanks. Gaz.
