Default Dirty looking clean oil?

I just got back from my first visit to the Dealer, to get my oil changed. They inform me it was changed 7 months and 2,000 miles ago, before I bought the car. I was concerned because my oil is really dark looking. I had a quart taken out when I first got the car last month because it was overfilled. I got to see the oil and it is not black, but really dark brown. I explained this to the service writer and he shrugged, dark brown oil is no concern. Dealer records say the oil was changed but I can change it again for $200.
My question is: Does anyone have experience looking at their oil 2,000 miles after it is changed, should I be comfortable with dark brown oil?
Thanks,
P.

Note: The car has only 14,300 miles on it.

Most car oil pumps operate at around 5 gallons per minute so it wouldn't take very long to completely circulate the entire sump supply and pick up contaminates and high heat exposure along the way that change the oil's color. Color doesn't mean much though. The only ..... only ..... way to tell if oil is doing it's job and be capable of protecting the engine is to have it analyzed. You can have pitch black oil that still has all the protective qualities needed and that's what matters. I once put the wrong SAE grade oil in a car and drove it about 20 miles before changing it again and the oil was already dark. Modern/synthetic oil gets changed out much too early IMO.
