Default Gooodbye X250 and Hello X260

Hi all

Well, I have run my old MY14 X250(3 D) 107k miles, sold after 60K miles over 7 years... and 2 weeks ago, traded for a Petrol MY2019 X260 25P, 25K on the clock..
A rare car with Cream leather again!
So far 39.1 mpg on along run (a far cry from the 60MPG often gained with the 3D) so no real complaints..
A few questions, I bought a handbook which is X260, but seems slightly different!
So anybody know about the SIM card and the way it works with the Nav system?
Will any data sim do the job?
Ideas welcomed please..
The overall feel is very smooth, as X250 was getting tired being 100% original! very crisp to drive and yes feels lighter!
I did 500 miles first off and felt good afterwards, so a fine machine so far..

I am hope the engine will be well behaved, not being Deaisel Ingenium and hopefully late enough to get it right!!
I am aware it is not a 6 pot(which I miss), but plenty of grunt and hopefully practical... and lasty will not get sworn at and fined by city centres!
Your thoughts on Nav system and the engine please( also been well serviced over the years!!)
I still have the other 8 beautiful cylinders as well!
Time to change my photo!!

Any data sim should work, check the handbook as it goes in the armrest slot in an unusual orientation. The data sim will give you access to live traffic information,. IF you take out a Jaguar InControl subscription, £60 for 2 years. Map updates are available monthly for a 3 year subscription of £129. The map updates have to be downloded to a USB stick via your PC, the download is 33GB in size! The update then has to ba carried out by plugging the USB stick into the USB port closest to the passenger side, updating can take 20-30mins. I find the maps are very up to date, and re-routing around traffic situations is accurate. Some prefer Google maps via their phones (which have to be physically connected or use third-party hardware) but I'm sticking with the Jaguar ones
You need to set up an InControl account to use it all.
To be honest it's all a bit of a faff, but it does work well when up and running. I find the InControl app on my phone very iuselful fore remote locking and unlocking, as well as being able to warm up or cool down my car before I get in.
I've had two 25t Sportbrakes in the last seven years, one leased for two years, and an ex-lease one which I bought outright four years ago, both with only minor issues. My present 2019MY is easily the best car I've ever owned and driving it is absolute bliss. Enjoy your 'new' car!

Thank you for that, I do enjoy it very much!
So being slow here, you have to ad he SIM as well as join the Jaguar In control..sounds a good idea!!
And with only £26K on the clock it should be good for a few years yet!

Not sure if you are in the US, but one thing to be aware of is the shutdown of the 3G and 2G networks. I hope in later model years the modem was changed to a 4 or 5G unit but my 2017 is 3G and I cannot get it to connect. T-Mobile is the last 2G carrier in the US and they are shutting it down.

OP's 2019 MY, like mine has 4G connectivity so should be OK for a few years yet.
