My lights aren't working they turn on but for some reason my brights and turn signals work?

 

This may be a defect in the lighting switch mounted on the steering binnacle. There is a little electronics package inside and often the wires split or the joints fail. I had to replace one on my first X350 XJ6. The switch is the same, I think.
