I'm having a heckuva time trying to update the navigation system in my 2117 XF. The Jag dealer couldn't do it without ordering a new card - HUH? Why couldn't he just update the card that is already in the car? I downloaded an update, but now I need an adapter so I can attach it to my desktop computer - great. Has anybody else successfully upgraded their navigation system?

 

US market may be different from EUROPE market but I've just gone through this process with my 2017 F-PACE.

1. downloaded the JLR Navigation update tool (Jaguar-MapUpdater-inst.exe)
2. installed update tool on PC



3. removed navigation SD card from vehicle
4. inserted card into adaptor and connected to PC
5. ran update tool

The result was:




No updates after the initial install in the vehicle in September 2017!

I contacted JLR Customer Relations Centre at Jaguar in Coventry who informed me JLR had changed navigation software supplier and updates are no longer available which is a disgrace with four year vehicle.

As I said at the start, US may be different but I suspect you will find it's the same that updates aren't available.

My biggest problem now is finding an adapter for the SIM card.

 

Depending on what you intend using to read the card, search Micro SD Adapter (on the left) or USB SD Card Reader (on the right)





Amazon and ebay list them.
