Default P0062 H02S Heater Control Circuit Bank 2 Sensor 3

I have noticed a slight smell of coolant in garage at night but no leaks at all. Now I just received the above code P0062 H02S Heater Control Circuit Bank 2 Sensor 3. Little digging I came up with the general idea to start buy changing out the O2 sensors. Anyone have this same msg prior & their fix ? Lastly any ideas where start with the coolant smell.( 2015 XF 3.0 AWD)

O2 sensors, especially bank 3, always go bad. Just replace and clear codes. As far as coolant check, visually check valley of engine. Small leak could stay there and not hit ground. Also the underpanel catches small leaks at times too. Also check the coolant manifold at the rear of the engine. It can slightly leak and dry on transmission before hitting underpanel or ground.

Default update to the P0062 HCC bank 2 sensor3

Total of 3 sensors on each bank. Total 6

Location is just under the drivers seat. You will need to purchase left and right, they have different connectors.

Tools required. 8mm socket to take the sheild off and a 22 mm 02 crow foot wrench and 30min of your time

Very easy job !! ending 94 (right) and 92 (left).

You might just want to pull them off and clean them with Carb cleaner or just as easy to replace. !

Well I fixed the coolant smell. The coolant bypass hose under the supercharger is made of plastic, where it meets the top of the engine had broke down and cracked. Was not loosing a lot of coolant, but sure could smell it in the garage. I replaced the water pump, thermostat and replace the bypass hoses under the intercooler with aftermarket metal ones since I had to take it all a part to get at the lines. Very common problem apparently. Took me a couple days at home in my garage and around $1200 in parts.

I have a 2015 XJ L with the 3.0 V-6 "S". Should I change out BOTH sensors when my failure code says Bank 2, sensor 3?

Thanks for posting this with your "pen" marks. Makes it very easy. Do you recommend changing out BOTH sensors when your failure code only shows 1? I have the Jag, 2015, XJ 3.0 V-6 with the "S."

Up to you but since I am in there and both sensors have seen the same mileage I usually replace both just so I don't have to go back in later to change the second one. They are not too expensive so trying to reduce future repairs.
