Default Warranty question

I have a 2017 XF 20D that is still under warranty. My rear defroster only works on about half of the rear windshield. It has been verified as defective by my local dealer. However, he says it is no longer under warranty because it is a "wear part". With a large stretch of my imagination I could maybe see the glass as being a "wear part", due to chips, cracks, etc., but not the defroster, as it is an electronic circuit. Am I way off base here, or do I have a valid argument? Has anyone else experienced this, or maybe know more details about the Jaguar Warranty? I have searched long and hard in the printed material and I can't find anything referring to the windshields as "wear parts". Any opinions/help would be appreciated.

The dealer, (and maybe Jaguar), is talking boll*cks ! How can a rear windshield be a "wearing part", Clearly they're hopig to fob you off with this brainless reply. So you'll need to stand your ground and maybe threaten legal action.

Just where do Jaguar get their dealers from ?

So, I called Jaguar Land Rover North America this morning. The man was very nice and understanding. However, after he researched it he agreed that the windshields are a "wear part". He went on to say that if I take it back in and have it replaced/repaired ($$) they would probably be willing to pay a portion of the cost, maybe. He also gave me the address for the corporate headquarters if I wanted to pursue it further. I then fired off a letter to Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC in NJ and it is already mailed. Can't wait to see what they have to say.
