Hello everyone! Being a previous two time 13 year long Range Rover owner, a P38 and L322 (still owning the latter after 8 years), and after having such good luck with them and my love of the brand, I'm about to buy a 2016 Jaguar XF Premium 35t AWD with 46,000 miles. I wanted to get your advice first before completing the purchase. The price is $13,500, one owner, always Jaguar/Land Rover serviced and no accidents or issues. I have no problem with the brand, despite the terrible reputation of the JLR brand. I think it's way overblown. I service my own cars always, and wanted to get the forum's advice and thoughts? Anyone?
Okay, no responses. I guess this forum won't be as responsive as the Range Rover forums were. Anyway, if anyone has advice, I would appreciate it. I hope to pick the car up tomorrow or Wednesday. Thank you in advance.
Thanks! I pick it up in the morning. I always do my own maintenance, and I'm wondering if there is a factory workshop manual available for this 2016 XF Premium 3.0 Supercharged. I've seen some for sale online but not sure which one is from JLR. That's the one I want and need. Anyone have a link or site where I can get the real deal?

I purchased a 2015 Jaguar XF in November 2024 which had 40,000 miles on it. My previous car was a 2004 Jaguar S-type which I purchased new and had 190,000 miles on it when someone totaled it. That car was about the most trouble-free car I ever owned. The 2015 XF is a more modern car and I loves the way it drives. I have had some issues with it, and it doesn't have the greatest reputation for reliability, but the dealer I bought it from look car of most of them. I initially had a coolant leak due to the failure of some hoses. I've also had to replace some tires and the front brakes, which had plenty of lining, but had warped rotors and so I recently needed to do a front brake job. Right now, the car runs great and has been reliable, and I hope it remains so. I still love the way Jaguars look and drive. Good luck with your 2016.
Just picked it up and washed it! It's a beauty and runs like a dream. I guess time will tell how it fares. I'm sure I'll be posting for advice as things come up. If anyone knows of a good workshop manual download please let me know. Thank you!
That is a lovely looking car! Congratulations.
Just keep an eye on the coolant! I thought "it can't be that bad, its more likely internet over exposure' but I hit 58,800 and the coolant y pipe fractured on both sides in the top of the engine. I am halfway through trying to replace all the hoses, thermostat, water pump and the rear cross over. I am not as mechanical as I would have liked so it is taking me time but even with the BiL here to help remove the super charger it was a pain. So be ready for that one, do lots of research.
I haven't found a good single source for a maintenance guide. I do have a PDF downloaded from one of the forums and of course I now cannot find it.

Most of all enjoy!
Thank you! I love it already. I did research it, and read about the plastic coolant pipes.. And thanks for the advice! I will keep an eye on it and on the coolant level. It's very similar to the L322 Range Rover 5.0L engines. They must have had the same ideas about that. I did download a service manual last night but I think I wasted my money. I'll keep looking. Thanks again!
the 3.0SC and 5.0SC are really close. Basically, the same block with a 2 cylinder delete.
I purchased cooling upgrade kit from Euro AMP, no idea how good it is yet as I am still getting it all back together but going from plastic to metal has to be a step in the right direction!
It really is one of the 'while you are in there' cases. Would be hell to pull everything apart, replace just the broken elements and then have to do it all again when something else decides to die.
I'll definitely check out the metal upgrade and do the whole thing at the first sign of a leak! And let me know about the service manual you downloaded if you find it! They are worth their weight in gold! Thanks Andy!
I took a gamble and purchased a PDF manual from https://easymanuals.co.uk/
It is a small file, and I dont know how much detail it will cover but so far it has the diagrams and torque settings I need. Not overly descriptive but has the usual 3 colour images
There are a few versions, and it looks like the 2018 is slightly different from my 2017 MY but no idea what changed.
Thank you! It looks pretty good! I went ahead and bought it. At $22 if it guides you in the right direction or right procedure just one time, you've saved 100's of dollars over what it cost. I'll add it to the USB stick that I put the other one on. Between the two, I think I'll be okay. I am looking forward to servicing and enjoying this X260 I bought. Since I've had 13 years of Range Rover experience, I've gotten to know the JLR brand pretty well. I'm sure there are differences but some things I can tell are very similar already. Thanks again for pointing me in that direction!
