Whining Noise Engine Off

hey guys, hoping someone can help before I lose the plot!!
My XF is making a horrendous noise, sounds like an old school computer game!!
Happening when driving and also when the engine is completely off.
sounds like it's coming from the airbag positions in he engine bay.
did have a flat battery recently and have a park brake fault showing now.
Any clues??

We would need a lot more information. What XF model, which year, what engine type (petrol or diesel), which size, Supercharged or not etc

What year is it? I have2016 with LED headlights. The whining goes on for about 15 minutes after engine shut off and is normal.

BCJAG, the whining you are mentioning is most likely coming from LED cooling fans, and you certainly cannot hear it while driving. I suspect that the OP's issue is entirely different, but you are all right - we have to know what MY it is before making any guesses
