0116 code

0116 code
I got a recent code on obd 0116 which stated something to do with coolant electrical signal blah blah. Coolant level is ok and engine temp seems ok No other issues with coolant.
side note,,,I've also recently started getting the beloved 0171 and 0174 with cel, but the fuel trims both stft and ltft are not high and are not misbehaving from what i can tell. why the lean codes if trims ok?

Wife is driving this car and reports no cel on morning drive (cooler outside temp) but the cel is coming on shortly after driving the car a few miles during the return trip in the afternoon.
I need to better understand how to fully utilize the obd reader. for past few years, I've only used it to read codes.
for now, I think I am going to try some BK 44 and see if it has an effect. Maybe the injectors are a bit fouled. I sure don't want to go thru another lean code battle that I endured with the s type. I don't think I have the stamina for it.

Brutal...I tried a new air filter and maf sensor(I got a mafs fault code) but to no avail. Still getting 0174 and 0171 each day but only on the afternoon commute as if ambient temp is in play?
frankly I have to admit that my years long battle with lean codes on the s type wire me out. This 4.2 is very intimidating to me. Can't even see coils. I'm not sure specifically which vaccuum lines you refer to and kinda afraid of it. I'm thinking of changing the fuel filter but beyond that, I might be dealer bound. This is the car that cost me $5,000 recently when I changed the battery and blew up the whole thing. Instrument cluster, anti theft module, fuse block....this is a car that I will never disconnect battery again except at dealer. Thinking if they blow it up, maybe I have recourse. So beyond only the simplest diy items the car is beyond me.sadly.

lots of stuff can lean codes on the 4.2 which is why I spray them with brake clean while monitoring short term fuel trims and also smoke test. cam covers leak, oil dipstick oring, intake gaskets, plastic vacuum lines and loose or leaking air intake tube between the throttle body and mafs. etc The other big issue is where the plastic and metal intake(hold inejctors) manifolds meet. There are orings inside that jaguar does NOT sell, But Land Rover does same part
