Default 09 XF Ambient Air Temperature

Fellas,

I have searched endless combinations of keywords relating to Ambient Air Temperature / Sensor or Harness for an 09 Jaguar XF, with no juice.

I need to know where:

-the Ambient Air Temperature sits at? (Location)

-The actual harness, or where this link begins?

My car got in to an accident, that apparently knocked sensors behind the bumper. After replacing the bumper and blending in the paint, the body shop is saying that a CEL is up and pointing over to inaccurate temp readings. It has been 3 weeks, and my shop cant figure out where the sensor sits or where it begins. and now my car is telling me its -37 Degrees when its actually typical california weather..

Any inputs?

P0072/P0073

thanks

I don't know where the sensor is..but it must be in an area that is hotter than the outside air temp..It's always reporting 5 to 10 degrees hotter than it really is....nothing for me to fret about..I can live with it.

Funny enough, I just was talking to my mechanic about this. We took off the skidplate and the temp sensors were just hanging down. He seemed to think that was where they went. They were these odd sorta D shaped things that hung down on either side right behind the front bumper. I've never seen outside air sensors that looked like that, but he's been working on Jags for a long time, so I assume he's correct.
I've been trying to find an image of them, but I may have to just drop the skidplate on my car to take one. I'll let you know if I can find it.

I reckon those D shaped things are the TPMS sensors and not the temp sensors.
Last I knew the ambient air temp sensor is in the bottom of the LHS exterior mirror (so driver's side on a US car, passenger side on a UK car).

Yeah, I had never seen temp sensors that looked like that. Usually they're a plastic pointy thing like this: |===>

Just trawled through jaguarparts.com and found it marked, but without a photo:
2009 Jaguar XF Parts - Ambient temp sensor - C2Z5465

Found them on ebay with a pic though: Jaguar 11 14 XJ Ambient Temperature Sensor C2Z5465 | eBay
