Hello Everyone,
My car turned off on the highway when I was driving and it was suspected battery.
The battery was changed and now the car makes a whining noise and it does not start. The starter does not engage. After running a scan tool, the codes I am getting are:
P0850 Gear shifter
P2610 ECM code
P0A0F No start
P0113 Air intake temp

The car is not turning over so the gear-shifter does not rise but shows that it is in park. The car was rolling when the dash turned off so I am not sure if it messed up there or what really happened. If anyone has had a similar problem causing a no start issue let me know!

 

What is the voltage across the battery when car is turned off? New battery may not be charged.

And - if you press start without foot on brake pedal does the ignition come on with any errors

 

its not the battery, i already did the obvious checks i think its the gear shifter or the transmission not properly being in park after the car turned of on the highway it didn’t start up and was towed. It did power up tho and the gear shifter went to park. I was just wondering if anyone experienced this before.

another question regarding the manual cable to put the car in neutral. Is it replaceable? Can the transmission be put into neutral without the use of that cable?
