Hi All,

I've got a 2014 Jaguar XF Portfolio with the 2.2 diesel engine. I've had it for nearly a year, and other than the battery being an issue, i've had no problems.



A few days ago, we got the Restricted Performance message on the dash and the car went into limp mode. We were going on the motorway, and as soon as we crossed roughly 110kmph, the warning came. Car lost power and as usual wouldn't rev high.

The battery has needed replacing, and I have gotten the odd message at times that the Battery isn't charging, especially when it gets cold here, but I sort it out by temporarily putting it on a charger. (I know i've neglected not getting it replaced, but haven't been able to do so yet).



The car always goes back to normal when turned off, but when ever we try drive it again, and go slightly above 100kmph, it comes back. Unfortunately we need to daily it , but I am looking for a second car as well to purchase. We have been using it in limp mode, and unfortunately travel via motorway daily.



I have purchased an OBD II reader, but it hasn't arrived yet. All the mechanics nearby me either have a wait time of 2-3+ weeks, or refuse to touch a Jag as its "known to be very unreliable".

Today I put it in Engineering mode, and got the following codes. Haven't been able to decipher them all but would appreciate some help. Also the car is also giving an error of smart key battery low as well, which may be one of the codes.

1XXX relates to Enhanced (manufacturer specific) codes P1

9XXX relates to Body Enhanced (manufacturer specific) codes B1

AXXX relates to Body Enhanced (manufacturer specific) codes B2

DXXX relates to Undefined (manufacturer specific) codes U1

EXXX relates to Undefined (manufacturer specific) codes U2
