The pictures don't do it justice. It is gorgeous! I'm very happy.

The parts guy at my local dealer was a huge pain in the *** to work with. It was like pulling teeth to get the guy to do his job and look up the parts we needed. I'm not sure why it's so hard to look through a parts catalog. He must not get many calls. There were some fitment issues with ducting behind the bumper (they don't perfectly match up). Supposedly the oil coolers were moved further up on the 2011's and the ducting wasn't used or was changed some how. My body shop didn't even see oil coolers so they were confused (maybe a 5.0L only thing). The parts guy couldn't find the new ducting so he said to bring the car to the dealer... I'll figure it out this spring when I get it out again.

Anyone out there with a 2011 XFR? Are the lower outside grills blocked off or is there ducting behind the grill?

 

I have an '11 XFR (for sale, incidentally, if you want the real thing! ;0)) As I recall, the driver's side is blocked - the other side has ducting to a cooler. The ducting doesn't sit entirely straight in there, oddly enough. I am not 100% certain - I will post back when I take a look at my car this evening, if this is wrong info.

 

I thought that might be the case. I remember hearing one side was blocked. The ducting is really close but you can tell if you get up close that it doesn't match up as you'd think it would. Maybe that's normal since the dealer couldn't find a different duct.

 

so just to be clear, you guys are saying the xfr front will fit just fine on the 09 super? that would be sick

. . . and just to be clear, is there a difference between an 09 Premium Luxury and an 09 SC? In other words, will the mod fit any 2009 model XF?

If there is no difference, I will have to ask my wife to go in and out of the garage a few more times which will surely result in her scraping the corner of the front bumper (again). Then I can pursue this modification . . . in my dreams.

 

I don't see why not. I think the SC bumper is a bit different but that doesn't matter. The fenders and hood appear to be the same between the SC and the models below. I'm sure the structure underneath is the same.

 

Hey I really love what you did to your front bumper and I was wondering if you could advise me on how I can go about doing the same. I also have a 2009 Jaguar XF SC and unfortunately purchased it before the XFR model came out, and I have been thinking about doing this conversion for a while now, but never really saw it come to life until I cam across your posting to this forum. Any help would be great, including where can I purchase all the parts, and where do you recommend that I install it. I live in the DC metro area and there is a shop that works only on Jaguars and I am thinking that I could take it their for the instal once I get the parts. An estimate price on this would also be very helpful. I am willing to spend about $1500. Is that budget realistic? Thanks a lot for any advice!!

 

Hi everyone from Europe! Just purchased 2010 XFR after a small fender bender with damaged front bumper, lights and hood and decided to go for a conversion, so for all of you curious out there - my car is coming from Germany next week. Next week I will start to look for the face lifted XFR(S) parts around Poland and UK for best price and let you know how the conversion goes with all the problems (hope wont be so much of them) and changes! Peace!

 

$1500 wouldn't come close to covering the cost of the conversion. Here is the cost based on Jaguar dealer pricing:

2011 XFR Bumper: $1200
Lower grills: $370 for all 3
Chrome rings for lower grills: $175/pair
XFR bumper shield: $290
Misc screws/washer/delfector: $65

Parts cost: $2100
Paint: ~$800
Install labor: ?

Total: $2900+
