Vehicle starts up very funky loud rattle noise upon start up
My neighbor seems to think its the engines lifters much advice is needed here need help.

 

Yes take it to a dealer and get an estimate.
The car does NOT have lifters as they are ALL OHC engines so the rocker arm rides directly on the cam.

Your engine is probably toast....

 

 

Can you make a short video for a minute or so, with your phone, so people can hear the noise you are talking about?

 

 

How many miles does the engine have on it?

 

As you don't show Location, we don't know where you are and therefore which engine will be fitted to the Premium Luxury specification in your market. From the spelling of "neighbor", I can only assume you are in the US and the engine is likely to be the 4.2 option ........?

The advice you need is NOT to run it for anything more than determining the cause. Rattles on a Jaguar engine are always expensive and frequently can rapidly become terminal.

As has been suggested, post a video clip. The word rattle immediately make me think timing chains but there are several other possibilities.

Right you never told us what engine is in your car??
So please help us guess by filling in your car details and mileage as was asked above.

If you have the 4.2L it's not timing chains. That engine is pretty bullet proof. Now the old 4.0L and the newer 5.0L V-8's do have this problem to differing degree's.
