Good day guys, I have a x250 jaguar xf 2.7d
The car was alright no faults just right for years and this year late February just after we had done a major service, 2 weeks later the car just wouldn't start, kept on giving gearbox error, the fault code was pointing to the Solenoids, we had all of replaced and new atf oil, it worked for a 3 days without a problem then returned ba k to the same issue it starts whenever it feels like it, so it can in the morning then decides not to start in the afternoon only to start after a day or 2, the gear shifter will be extremely hot but the engine Bay is cold, guys I really don't know what to do next, has anyone gone through this drag before?
I need help.
I'm not specifically familiar with the diesels but what I have found with my XF is that, if there is a starting problem that leads to prolonged (i.e. a few seconds) cranking, the resulting slight voltage drop can cause all manner of fault codes and messages to appear. The gearbox faults may well be a red herring.
