Default Gearbox Fault - Rough Engine Start

Started my car this morning to a rough start . Felt like when you try to start your engine in the freezing temps and its struggling. Immediately I see a gearbox fault message on the dash...then it goes away. I reverse out and drive normally with no indications.

Lately my engine has been starting with almost no initial crank. The engine just starts when I push the button as if the combustion starts immediately. Doesn't sound good as it struggles to rotate the motor on start. Same thing happened today it didn't crank just tried to start immediately .

When I reached work I did a engine restart and it started normally with a nice initial crank before ignition. It sounded great.

Any idea what's going on ? I didn't start the car all weekend and Friday before bringing it in I put it through a car wash which left soap all over my car. I didn't bother washing it off as it looked like the dryers pushed it off. Could this be related to why?

Sounds like your battery is dying, which is known to cause issues like random error messages.

Get it checked (or most likely, replaced).

Car details may help.
