2009 XF SC - getting check engine codes P2402 and P2406
In the past month or two, I started getting the check engine codes P2402 and P2406, which are "Evaporative Emission System Leak Detection Pump Control Circuit High". I cleared the code(s) and they come back after about a week of daily driving.
I did some reading online and didn't find much, but did find that this may be due to a DMTL pump issue of some type. Either that or the canister/tube connected to the pump? Has anyone had a similar issue or have a diagram on where this is located?

This code has been showing for the past two weeks. Anyone have any insight into what might be causing it?
I think I found the culprit. Might anyone have a diagram to where the Fuel Vapor Canister is located - part #C2D40532? I think it might be on the Fuel Tank itself.
was it the canister? is it fixed now? where is it located. having the same issues

Had the same code on my XK for a while. I found that pump can be purchased off eBay separately (Land Rover part). Cost was under $100 for part. Local mechanic changed it out for under $120.
Fixed the light and the code never came back.

Do you happen to have the part number for the Fuel Vapor Leak Detection Pump? I have been searching and can't find it anywhere. I have a 2012 Jaguar XFR. I assume the same pump would be found on an XF.

Trying to cross reference it with the 2012 Jag XFR. Does anyone know if this leak detection pump work for the '12 XFR.
I'm getting a PO2402 code with my 2009 XF SC.
I have a shop manual. It doesn't refer to an evaporative leak detection pump, but does show a tank leak detection pump that connects to the charcoal canister. Are these pumps the same thing?
In the manual, the first step in removing the charcoal canister is to remove the differential. This seems like a lot of work to access a maintenance item like the pump.
Am I understanding everything correctly?
Thanks,
Chris

The Jag Manual will tell you the whole canister needs to come out as they do not sell "just the pump".
That part number I mentioned earlier is the exact same pump as the 4.2 (maybe 5.0's too) car. It's sold under Land Rover and bolts right in. No need to mess with differential (at least on XK). Local shop said it was no big deal and charged an hour. You can get under car and look in front of gas tank and see the pump (wire harness is connected).

Joe,
I appreciate your input. I've uploaded pages from the manual. On the XF, it appears the pump is connected to the canister and right next to it behind the gas tank. There are no instructions for removing the pump, only the canister.
I'm hoping someone on the forum has experience with this.
Thank you,
Chris

Got the same 2 codes - 2402 and 2406 - you can buy the pump separately as mentioned. I have a 2010 XFR with electronic differential- NO access to valve because of electric motor - have to drop differential or heaven forbid cut an access hole in the trunk floor.
