2009 XF SC - getting check engine codes P2402 and P2406
In the past month or two, I started getting the check engine codes P2402 and P2406, which are "Evaporative Emission System Leak Detection Pump Control Circuit High". I cleared the code(s) and they come back after about a week of daily driving.
I did some reading online and didn't find much, but did find that this may be due to a DMTL pump issue of some type. Either that or the canister/tube connected to the pump? Has anyone had a similar issue or have a diagram on where this is located?

I think I found the culprit. Might anyone have a diagram to where the Fuel Vapor Canister is located - part #C2D40532? I think it might be on the Fuel Tank itself.

I'm getting a PO2402 code with my 2009 XF SC.
I have a shop manual. It doesn't refer to an evaporative leak detection pump, but does show a tank leak detection pump that connects to the charcoal canister. Are these pumps the same thing?
In the manual, the first step in removing the charcoal canister is to remove the differential. This seems like a lot of work to access a maintenance item like the pump.
Am I understanding everything correctly?
Thanks,
Chris

The Jag Manual will tell you the whole canister needs to come out as they do not sell "just the pump".
That part number I mentioned earlier is the exact same pump as the 4.2 (maybe 5.0's too) car. It's sold under Land Rover and bolts right in. No need to mess with differential (at least on XK). Local shop said it was no big deal and charged an hour. You can get under car and look in front of gas tank and see the pump (wire harness is connected).

Joe,
I appreciate your input. I've uploaded pages from the manual. On the XF, it appears the pump is connected to the canister and right next to it behind the gas tank. There are no instructions for removing the pump, only the canister.
I'm hoping someone on the forum has experience with this.
Thank you,
Chris
