2011 Platinum Service
I purchased my 2011 XF in August 2011 and received the Platinum Service offer of 5 years/50K miles complimentary maintenance.
I was told by the dealership that the first complimentary service would be in 2012, then for 4 years after that. This morning I brought my car in for its final complimentary maintenance service and was told I had exhausted the Platinum Service. This ensued in a back and forth with the service department, and long story short, I had to call Jaguar Corporate to find out what was going on. I was told that the program started in the year the car was purchased, so I had to have had my first service in 2011, then it would be complimentary for 4 years after. To Jaguar's credit, they're going to work with the dealership to see if they can provide me goodwill pricing.
Has anyone else had this kind of headache? Seems odd to me that anyone would have to have their service in the first year of purchase, considering you're buying a brand new car. It doesn't make any sense that I would purchase my car in August 2011 and have to bring it in for scheduled service before 12/31/11. Even buying a car in January 2011 and having to bring it in before the end of the year seems like a stretch, but perhaps it's just me. My understanding is that the car needs to be serviced every 12 months or based on the recommended mileage. I only have 35,500 miles.
Thanks for your feedback.

Good luck, hopefully it goes smoothly once you show the dealer the bulletin and the number to call to get Jag to pay for your service.
