Smile 2011 XF Premium Paddle Shifters

Hi,

I recently aquired my 2011 XF Premium and being a senior I will never use the paddle shifters.

Can these be easily removed without any adverse affect so that there is no chance of either me or my wife hitting them by accident??

Thanks.

just leave the transmission out of sport mode and the paddle shifters do not operate so no worry of accidental shifting

I can't remember from the test drives, but I thought all generation one XF paddle shifters can be activated in D? Didn't they do it away in 2012 + model year, where it can only be activated in S mode?

According to my dealer the paddles can easily be deactivated. Whether it is software or disconnecting a connector it can be done.

What Jagular says is likely correct but I can say that in my SC they are active in all transmission drive modes.

Different model years (and models) will vary, but the 2011 XF Premium has shift paddle functionality in "S" only. I would really like to be able to use this feature in "D" also, and have never once hit it inadvertantly.

I accidently activatethe paddles pretty often. I can see why someone would want to deactivate.

Over time one gets used to not accidentally selecting first and wondering why the car won't shift up.

However, disabling the paddles in D seems a good compromise. Too bad it isn't selectable in the vehicle interface. No reason why it couldn't be if Jaguar put in the right software.

Bingo! That would be the best option and a very convenient one too.
I would personally prefer it to be activiated in both D and S. It would keep everyone happy.
