Default 2011 XFR Restricted Performance: Any Ideas Why?

I own a 2011 XFR which I purchased for my wife. This is the second Jaguar I purchased for her (the first was a 2007 Super V8). The car has approximately 39000 miles. Over the past month it has left my wife stranded three times. Each time the following lights flashed: Restricted Performance, DSC Not Available, Forward Alert Unavailable, and the check engine light remained on. Each time the car ran extremely rough and would not accelerate. On each occasion the car had to be towed to the dealership.

The first time the dealer diagnosed the problem as a throttle body sensor. The second time the dealer replaced the entire throttle body. The third time, which was this past Friday, the dealer stated that they would have to contact Jaguar directly to help them figure out what the problem is. Have any of you experienced this problem? Any idea what could be causing this problem?

I did use the search feature and did not find any mention of this issue in any other XFRs. My wife wants to keep the car, but I am.......... well not so sure I should. I don't want her in an unreliable car that leaves her stranded repeatedly.

I suspect people will want to know the full list of actual codes.

According to the dealer the code the first two times was throttle body sensor fault. They replaced the sensor first. Then they replaced the entire throttle body.

First thing I would try is a new battery unless the old one is properly load tested and prices to be as good as new. Second thing I would check is the battery cable connections for signs of corrosion between the battery end the insides of the cable terminals.

Older XFR suffered from air leaks under the intercoolers or possibly under the supercharger. If you're getting lean codes ask them to check very carefully for air leaks under the intercoolers.

Yep, these Jags are what I would super battery dependant. And use a lot of power just sitting, If your still running the OE battery, that's where I'd start my troubleshooting.

I suggest paying more for an AGM type battery. Have them in everything and they just work better.

I just replaced my battery in my 2014 f-type at 12,000 miles. Codes no more.

It could be that the car has more than one problem but it is likely that a new battery will fix At least part of what is going on.

Thanks for replies. Dealer said today that they are waiting to hear from a Jaguar Tech. Not one of the Jag dealer's mechanics but someone from the primary company. Said it may take awhile. Sighhhh.

That's actually good news. It means they might get to the cause without just throwing (more) parts at it.
