You can disable the start/stop permanently by disconnecting the small battery that provides the power for it.

Yes but then I would have to stare at that stupid warning light everyday and it would still make me mad!

If you want a great performing tire for a reasonable price, then by all means get the S-04's. I've heard the Michelins are slightly better, but significantly more expensive. If you want it to be a great highway cruiser, the Hankooks are good for that, but it won't handle anywhere near as good.
I have no hard data to work on so of course I can't say for sure. My theory though is that it was just sheer bad luck/the time for that shaft to split. Puns intended! Sometimes the stars just align and things break. I've been racing, rebuilding and restoring cars and bikes long enough to come to terms with that. I assume this isn't your first rodeo either!

I'd be willing to bet that if you take your car to the track again, the half shaft won't break. You are still making the same amount of torque as last time, so if it was indeed the source of the first failure, it will be so again. If I recall correctly, the member here who used drag radials also had a pulley and a tune so he was making similar power to you. His car did not break at the track, it just slowed down in the presence of all that additional traction, exactly the opposite of what should happen, right?

I remember when the 03 cobras first came out and everyone was flipping out over the independent rear end. Some popped at near stock hp levels, plenty of others stayed together well into the 500whp range. I think you just caught a bad break. Ok last pun I promise!

Thank you for your feedback on the tires. I'll definitely be pulling the trigger on them once it warms up around here again.

Brian our Torque limits where probably removed in our tune. I'm pretty sure the trans language has been cracked since these ZF 6speeds are used in so many other makes. Even if the code isn't broken it speaks to the ECM, and since tuning can be done by altering the ECM or its input and/or output commands directly or piggyback, torque limits, like speed limits removal is not big deal.

So other than the 6SPD vs the 8SPD, is there anything that has changed in the 2013 XFR? About ready to buy a 2012 for $5-8k less than the 2013. Should I upgrade to the 2013 or save the money?
